Ernestine Delmain Obituary

Ernestine Rose Delmain, known to all as Tena, nee Peredoe, 86, Lonedell, departed this life Sunday, May 14, 2023, in St. James.

Tena was born Oct. 3, 1936, in Herculaneum, the daughter of Ernest Peredoe Sr. and wife Daisy, nee Lore. On May 2, 1955, she was united in marriage to Bernard John Delmain Sr., and three children came to bless this union.

Tena was a Christian and formerly attended First Baptist Church in St. Clair. In her younger years, she was employed at a shoe factory in Union and then at Walmart in Union, in the jewelry department for almost four years. She was primarily a homemaker who took good care of her home and family, and she never tired of her job.

She enjoyed sewing, reading and ceramics. She was involved with the St. Clair Saddle Club for several years and was a proud member of the Meramec Area Sportsmen's Association. Spending time with her family and lovingly spoiling her grandchildren brought her great joy. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will be cherished by all of them forever.

Tena is survived by her husband, Bernard Delmain Sr., Lonedell; her sons, Bernard J. Delmain Jr. and Monte T. Delmain and wife Patty, all of Lonedell; one sister, Sue Stufflebean, Sullivan; brother-in-law, Darrel Delmain and wife Rose, Salem; grandchildren, Debra Morrow, Fenton, Sherry Lipic, Arnold, and James Delmain, Lonedell; great-grandchildren, Nora Rose Lipic and Luca Clintsman; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Daisy Peredoe; one daughter, Brenda Caldwell; three brothers, Cletus Peredoe, Charles Peredoe and Ernest Peredoe; and three sisters, Evelyn Koch, Jean Wiles and Nellie Manning.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with the Rev. Michael Kinion officiating.

Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
