George Hotsenpiller Obituary

George M. Hotsenpiller Jr., 83, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022.

George, was born June 17, 1938, in Smithton, the son of George M. Hotsenpiller Sr. and wife Olga, nee Bremer. He graduated from Stover High School in Stover. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1955 to 1958 before being honorably discharged. In 1959, George was united in marriage to Mary Kammerich in Tipton. The couple made their home in Florissant before moving to Union in 2003.

George was employed as a St. Louis city police officer from 1962 to 1976. He then worked as the director of corporate security for Laclede Gas, until his retirement Jan. 1, 2005.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Hotsenpiller, Union; one son, Ken Hotsenpiller and wife Deanna, St. Clair; five grandchildren, Sarah Hotsenpiller, Emily Hotsenpiller, Corey Hotsenpiller, Marrisa (Josh) Lanham and Brendan Ryan; one great-grandchild, Bearett Lanham; many other relatives and friends.

George was preceded in death by one son, Paul Hotsenpiller; his parents, George and Olga Hotsenpiller Sr.; and two sisters, Joan Grant and Judy Allen.

No services are planned at this time.

The Hotsenpiller family is being served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Union.
