Joe Bartholomew Obituary

Joe Keith Bartholomew, 51, departed this life Monday, June 17, 2013, near his home, in Camdenton.

Joe, son of Bobby J. Bartholomew and wife Kathleen, nee McMasters, was born May 9, 1962, in Fort Campbell, Ky. He was raised in Union, and graduated from Union High School. He attended Missouri University and then completed his degree at St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He worked for Medicare-Glazier in St. Louis for one year and then purchased Joe's Pharmacy, Lebanon in 1991. He had made his home at Lake of the Ozarks for the last several years.

Joe professed his faith in Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church, Union. He continued to follow the Baptist faith throughout his life.

He was a member of the Laclede County Masonic Lodge 83 A.F. & A.M. of Lebanon, Laclede County Shrine Club, Lebanon Chamber of Commerce, National Rifle Association and National Turkey Federation. He played on a Lebanon softball team. He greatly enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were turkey hunting, deer hunting and fishing. He also liked spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Joe was an intelligent businessman who possessed a delightful sense of humor and always had a positive outlook on life. His favorite expression, "It's All Good," was reflective of his good-heartedness and attitude toward life. He was very generous to the Lebanon community and to every worthwhile cause. He was blessed with the gift of gab, never met a stranger, and knew how to be a true friend.

Joe was a loving fiance, son, brother, uncle, and a kind and caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his family, pharmacy staff, customers and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Bobby J. Bartholomew.

Joe is survived by his fiancee, Brenda Parks, of the home; mother, Kathleen Bartholomew, Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Greg Bartholomew, Cape Girardeau, and Tod Bartholomew and wife Paula, Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Denise Hancock and husband Chris, New Albany, Ind.; four nieces and nephews, Jessica, Nicholas, Conrad and Sydney; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon.

A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at First Baptist Church, Lebanon.

Burial was in Manila Cemetery, Manila, Ark.
