Lloyd Duncan Obituary

Lloyd Philip Duncan, 97, passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, in Venice, Fla.

Lloyd was born Oct. 28, 1920, in Newburg to George and Bessie, nee Loughrige, Duncan. The family moved to Washington when Lloyd was 5 years old. After graduation from Washington High School, he attended the University of Missouri, Columbia. In his junior year, he was called into service and served 34 months in North Africa. After service, along with his father and brothers, he formed the Zero Manufacturing Company.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anne (Duncan) Jones; his parents; three brothers, Leon, George and Sam; and one sister, Vivian.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 71 years, Caroline; one daughter, Pamela (Duncan) Backhaus; one grandson, Duncan Jones; one sister, Charlene (Mrs. Jim) Jackson; two sons-in law, Philip Jones and Keith Backhaus; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Venice Presbyterian Church.

Memorials may be made to the Washington Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 4834 South Point Road, Washington, MO 63090.
