Marilyn Beanblossom Obituary

Marilyn Lorraine Beanblossom was escorted by angels to the arms of her Savior, Sunday, March 20, 2022.

Her parents, John Fred Schmitt and his wife, Josephine Eleanor Schmitt, nee Lenz, welcomed her into the world on Jan. 10, 1940 to join her other 10 siblings. She passed away at Mercy Hospital Washington at the age of 82 years old. She received her education at St. Francis Borgia. She was united in marriage to Gordon Edward Beanblossom, and to this union, two sons were born, Nicholas Charles and Dennis Patrick. They were married several years and then later divorced.

In 1970, Marilyn was employed at Pacer Industries for 22.5 years where she met Gary Koelling. Marilyn and Gary were sweethearts and life mates for 47 years. Together they were complete and enjoyed spoiling each other. Being deeply devoted to each other, they shared many adventures and whatever life sent their way together. For them, they had a perfect love. At the Grand Ole Opry, Marilyn persuaded Loretta Lynn to come back across the stage while performing just for Marilyn to take a picture. Marilyn was thrilled.

Among her survivors are her children, Dennis Beanblossom and Nicholas Beanblossom, both of Washington; stepdaughter, Suzie Manhart and husband John, Labadie; two sisters, Theola Kandlbinder and Evelyn Kamler, both of Washington; grandchildren, Dennis Beanblossom, Brandy Beanblossom, Nicholas Beanblossom and Heather Gist and husband Dan; two step-grandchildren, Christopher Manhart and Aimee Maune and husband Adam; great-grandchildren, Daniel Beanblossom, Ayden Beanblossom, Karly Beanblossom, Kieran Brendel, Chandler Carroll and Oliver Gist; four step-great-grandchildren, Mason Maune, Claire Maune, Chase Manhart and Caeli Manhart; her life mate, Gary Koelling, Union; other relatives and friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings, Armin Schmitt, Walter Schmitt, Jim Schmitt, Jack Schmitt, Ruth Blackwell, Bernice Stallmann, Joan Patke and Shirley Marquart.

Visitation was scheduled for Friday March 25, from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, Washington.

A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 26, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington.

Interment will be in Dutch Hill Cemetery. A funeral meal will follow interment at 1 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Dutch Hill Cemetery Fund or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
