Mayer Levy Obituary

Mayer Levy Jr., 92, St. Clair, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024.

Dear husband to the late Patricia Levy of 69 years, father and father-in-law to Kenneth Levy (Becky), Daniel Levy (Jo Ellen) and the late Michael Jay Levy; grandfather to Karla Chiarelli (Chris), Jacob Levy, Lauren Dickson (Brandon), Brandon Levy (Kristine), Amelia Levy, Stephanie Levy (Ray Diaz), Danielle Levy MD (Kevin Murphy); great-grandfather of Nara, Kenzie and Archer Dickson, Calvin and Sadie Chiarelli, Saylor and Walker Levy, Michelle Levy Diaz; dear sister Jacqueline Berk, nephew Robert Berk (Lisa) and niece Julie Huettig; cousins, many friends and neighbors.

Mayer met his childhood sweetheart in his early teens in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from LSU as a 2nd Lt. in the USAF, and after his military service settled first in Memphis, Tennessee, then in St. Louis. He worked in the financial services industry for 40 years in the St. Louis and St. Charles area.

Together with Pat, they traveled the world setting foot on six continents, often with good friends. Upon retirement, they spent many winters together on their sailboat ?Les Bon Temps? in Key West, the Bahamas, and island hopping the Caribbean.

Mayer's civic involvement includes St. Charles Rotary Club, American Red Cross, and St. Louis Effort for AIDS. Along with Pat, they were awarded the Sandra T. Spirtas Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025, at Shaare Emeth Synagogue at the corner of Ballas and Ladue Roads. To stream service: https://sestl.org/worship/upcoming-services/
