Michael McGuire Obituary
Mike was born June 1, 1957, in St. Louis, to William McGuire and wife Alice, nee Swinhart. Mike attended school in St. Louis and graduated from North County High School in 1975. He later attended East Central College. Mike was united in holy matrimony to Karen Metts Sept. 17, 1983, in Arnold. The couple made their home in Union, and they were blessed with three daughters.
Mike was employed as a network service technician with AT&T until his retirement in 2015. He was a Christian man and enjoyed hunting, fishing, video games, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He loved animals, especially his cat, Tiny. Mike was a member of Communications Workers of America Local 6300.
He is survived by his mother, Alice McGuire; two daughters, Sarah McGuire and Megan McGuire and wife Kayla Parson, all of Union; one adopted son, Zac Adams and wife Samantha, Union; mother of his children, Karen McGuire; two grandchildren, Aiden and Benjamin; four sisters, Ruth Ruby, Mary Clippard and husband Don, all of St. Louis, Peggy Calloway and husband Dan, Desloge, and Laura Tinker and husband Carl, Bonne Terre; one brother, Jeff McGuire and wife Lana, St. Charles; other relatives and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his father; one brother, William "Bill" McGuire; and one daughter, Erin McGuire.
A funeral service was held Thursday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union, with the Rev. Keith Gillming officiating.
Burial followed in Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Union.
Memorial donations may be made in honor of Mike to St. Louis Area Foodbank.
The McGuire family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Union.
