Richard Cordry Obituary

Surrounded by his loving family, Richard Allen Cordry, 59, passed away at his home in Labadie, Missouri, on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024.

Rich was born Aug. 17, 1965, in Washington, Missouri, to Gerald "Jerry" Cordry and Loraine (nee' Thiebes). He received his education at Labadie Elementary School and graduated from Washington High School in 1983. After completing his education, Rich started his career at St. Albans Farms in St. Albans, Missouri, and then began working at SKF Foundry in Washington. He then took a position with Skyview in Labadie and left that position to begin his career as a dump truck driver. Rich began his career as a truck driver with Lloyd A. Lynn Inc. Trucking in Labadie and then began driving for Riverstone Quarry in Villa Ridge and Union. Rich worked for Riverstone Quarry for over 31 years until his health recently declined and he was no longer able to drive his dump truck.

Rich was united in marriage to Debra Ward on Feb. 14, 1992. The couple made their home in Washington, and three children blessed their marriage. The family later settled in Labadie.

When Rich wasn't working to provide for his family, he enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, boating, and spending time on the river with friends and family members. He also enjoyed drag racing and spent much of his free time building and rebuilding engines. Rich was a self-taught jack-of-all-trades and seldom came across something he couldn't repair. He enjoyed hosting family barbecues and participated in several barbecue competitions. Rich loved his family dearly and loved spending time with his friends, family members, and cherished loved ones.

Rich was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Cordry; his paternal grandparents, Arthur Kuebler and Rita Cordry Kuebler; and his maternal grandparents, Marion "Butch" and Rosena "Toots" (nee' Pfeiffer) Thiebes.

He is survived by his three children: Zachery Cordry, of Bismarck, MO, Brennan Cordry, of Washington, MO, and Alyssa Cordry and fianc? Bobby Price, of Herculaneum, MO; his mother, Loraine Stettes (nee' Thiebes) and step-father Rich, of Pacific, MO; significant other, Kim Erisman, of Labadie, MO; two grandchildren: Collin Schupp and Brynlee Cordry; two siblings: Angie Cordry and Jerry Cordry, both of Arkansas; along with other relatives, his coworkers, and many dear friends.

A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Oltmann Funeral Home, Washington, with Pastor Jacob Sipes officiating.

Burial followed in St. Peters United Church of Christ Cemetery, Washington.

Memorial donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
