Melissa Kay Luke Melissa Kay Luke of Daleville, AL (Level Plains) passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at the family residence. She was 53. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, February 20 at Straight Paths Baptist Church in Level Plains with Pastor James Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. and continuing until service time. Melissa was born May 6, 1956 in Lee County, AL to the late Jack E. and Bonita Averett Harrison. She was a faithful member in good standing at Straight Paths Baptist Church in Level Plains. In addition to her parents, a brother, William Kirby Harrison, preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, William (Bill) Luke, Level Plains; a son, James Thompson, Melbourne, FL; a daughter, Danielle Whitaker (Mark), Auburn, AL; a sister, Teresa Griswald (Tim), Level Plains; two brothers: Edward Harrison (Pam), Palm Bay, FL, David Harrison, Melbourne Beach, FL; nieces and nephews: Sarah and Mary Walsh, Lauren, Lana, David Jr., and Garrett Harrison, Tiffany (Mike), Faith and Jacob Hill, Greg, Andrea, Stacey, Eric and Noah Pearson; and special friend, Meona Lee of Level Plains.
