Thank you all for the kind words on behalf of my father. He was a great man and not a day goes by we don't hear his voice. Grateful to be his son and hope to be half the man he is one day.

Willie (Chief Dunning),
We haven't seen each other for almost 20 years, 5th Bn, 101st Abn. You were eager to attend Warrant Officer school and soon enough you made a difference. Ironically, I had the pleasure of speaking with you about a year ago and a opportunity to catch up.

Rest In Peace Brother,

To the Dunning family, "We send our deepest condolences for your loss."

I have known this precious boy since 1st Grade and if there is such a thing as fist grade love we were it. We lived in the same neihborhood growing up and our paths changed when we entered different highschool but I will always remmember this precious man as the sweet fun loving, good looking young little sweetheart that he was. I will never forget him. May his memory be blessed and his family be comforted with His Eternal Peace. Love to Mary also. Lovingly, Kirsten Gunter

Our Airport (South AL Reg Airport / Andalusia - Opp) worked with Will on a regular basis. He was always very kind, professional and supportive. If he didn't know the answer to something, he worked to find it. We thought a lot of him and his ability to work with us. Our hearts are just broken learning of his passing. Prayers for him and his family during this time.

I have known Willie or "Will" as I have always called him ever since he came to Rucker. He was in a hunting club of mine for a while. Although I have not seen him in some time, I still call him friend. We have shared a lot of outdoor time together planting food plots and hunting. He got his truck stuck at the club one time while his wife was with him and had to walk to a farmers house to get him to pull him out with a tractor. He lost a flip flop in the process. He was great to be around. I will miss him. I'm just thankful to have known him. My deepest condolences to his family.

I first met Willie about 30 years ago to the day that he passed. He was my first roommate in the Army, and we built a lasting friendship over the past three decades. We chased each around the country with assignments...from Germany, to Fort Campbell, and finally to Fort Rucker. We went through life‘s ups and downs together, but were always there for each other.
We watched our kids grow up together, and into the fine young men and women they are today.

He is truly my brother, and will be missed deeply.

Willie always challenged himself to be a better person. Whether it was as an Officer, a friend, or most importantly...a Father.

I will selfishly miss him, but I understand he didn’t lose this fight with this terrible disease. He won. Because he’s now with eternal peace with his Heavenly Father.

Will was a great man; full of life & so proud of his kids. We served together in Army at Ft Campbell and then again at Ft Rucker so I’ve known him for at least 15 years. We often talked about our families & how we wanted our kids to excel in life. All who knew him will say he was a Godly man of character.

Rest In Peace Brother; until we meet again in the Kingdom of heaven. Just wish we had more time together to do some more huntin’ & fishin’ here on earth. If you have any influence up there on things here on earth; how about you help me catch some of the largest fish in Lake Eufaula the next few years.

Miss you my friend.
