David Keep Obituary

David James Keep, 59, passed away unexpectedly February 21, 2014. David was born in Youngstown Ohio to James and Virginia Keep, June 9th 1954.

It is with great sorrow that I announce the sudden passing of my husband David. He was my best friend, companion and whole world. He was an incredible musician who rebuilt Hammond organs and saxophones. He enjoyed books by Allen Watts and Terry Pratchett and loved chess. We were currently watching the Fisher Mysteries on DVD with our boxer Lilly on his lap. He graduated from Western Reserve Academy in Ohio and earned two BS degrees in mathematics and business from SUNY. He also acquired a MBA from Harriot-Watt in Edinburg, Scotland. David always sought after more education and received the professional designation of Certified Energy Manager while working at Bangor Hydro Electric / Emera Maine, his home away from home.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Betsy Klipp Keep of Ellsworth, mother and father Virginia Fenton Keep and James David Keep of Estes Park, CO, 2 brothers Robert Keep and wife Shannon of Estes Park, CO, and Gerald Keep and wife Linda of Jonesborough, TN, sisters Linda Keep Barosh Elmarr of Estes Park, CO, Suzanne Keep Green and husband Mark Green of Berthoud, CO, nieces Theresa Barosh, Kimberly Barosh and husband Reid Gilsdorf, Samantha and Sophie Green, nephews Nic Keep, Michael and Gregory Barosh, Kevin Green and more friends than he ever realized he had.

Dave, my heart is shattered and I will miss you and your smile deeply. He always said "start the day with a hug, never stop learning and respect the interconnectedness of all things". So in his honor, hug those nearest to you and keep his memory close to your heart.

There will be a memorial of his life TBD in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name to the Ark Animal Shelter, which he supported for many years, (www.thearkpets.org) 60 Barber Ln, Cherryfield, Maine 04622 Arrangements made by Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Homes

Dear Betsy, Somehow I missed signing the guest book, but I want you to know you are in my thoughts and my prayers as you travel this journey with the love of your life no longer physically by your side. Dave will always, always be with you. That I truly believe. May you find strength and peace and know that love endures forever. Sending you much love, Mary
