Barbara A. Anderson

1936 - 2018

Barbara A. Anderson, age 82, of Erie, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, December 1, 2018. She was born in Erie, on October 20, 1936, daughter of the late Edward and Phyllis Adams.

Barb was the matriarch of her family. Her husband passed away when she was 35 years old and she raised their five children on her own. Barb's children and grandchildren remained her primary focus throughout her life. Though her passions were family, animals and the outdoors, she enjoyed everything life had to offer. It was not unusual to see her at a motorsport event, enjoying a craft beer with friends, or on the back of a motorcycle at the age of 81. She will be missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Barb is survived by children, Marc Anderson (Brenda), Darryl Anderson (Lisa), Cornelius Anderson (Kathy) and Debbie Anderson; her life partner, William Schick; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius Anderson; and one daughter, Darlene "Sissy" Anderson.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Road, on Thursday, December 6th, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. James R.C. Church on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A Rosary Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 4 p.m.
