Dave was one of my best friends growing up outside Springboro back in the 70's when we were kids, into the early 80's when I still lived up that way. He was 2 yrs younger than me, and but we played together on sports teams beginning with Little League (Springboro Merchants) and then on with Conneaut Valley HS teams. Dave was a great athlete with tremendous leadership abilities in Football, Basketball, and Baseball. Some of it came natural to him, but he also worked hard to be a winner, which he was. But mainly, back in that High School era and into our early 20's Dave was just a great friend and we spent countless hours fishing together all over Crawford County, but especially wading French Creek during the summer months. These memories are still so strong for me, though they are 30 years old. We lost touch when I didn't return home to live in PA after college, and I am shocked that Dave was taken from this life, his family and friends, so prematurely. Knowing what a great person Dave was at that age, I know he must have been a great husband, father, co-worker, coach, whatever role he played in someone's life. You have my deepest sympathies on your loss.
