Nancy Lape Wansor

Dawn and I went to (now) Indiana University together. We were also fraternity "sisters", also very good friends. When we graduated, my husband Terry Wansor and I were invited to Dawn´s wedding, shortly thereafter she and her new husband invited us to their new home in Edinburg for a lovely visit-we pledged to keep in touch. Well as often happens, we became so involved with children, families of our own that we both very much wanted. My memory is that Dawn´s children came first, she was thrilled to have her girls. Terry and I moved to Greensburg and both taught at Hempfield High School until we had our first child (of 4). We exchanged Christmas cards for awhile.
We received our IUP Magazine today, Terry brought me a picture he had brought up on his phone at the obituary site and asked me if I recognized the person. I certainly did, her wonderful smile gave her away. She was a great friend and a happy, smiling, compassionate person. I regret that we couldn´t have spent more time together in this place, but I am sure I will see her again. I loved her.
You may give Dawn´s family my email address.

Dawn was a special person! I always enjoyed our talks when she was a sub at St. George School! She was one of the best substitute teachers for teachers and especially the students she interacted with in the school. She will be sadly missed.

I will always remember Dawn as a natural born 2nd grade teacher. After she retired she would substitute teach for my kindergarten class. She always did a stellar job and my kids loved her too. Her life was a gift to us.

Dawn was truly such a wonderful person who will be missed! My children loved when she would bring her puppets into the classroom and share her stories. We will never forget that. Dawn was so kind and gentle with the kids and that does not go un noticed. She was always willing to lend a helping hand. May God bless Dawn's family and may perpetual light shine upon her. Amen.
