Jerome,Keith & Eddie---I am very sorry for the loss of your dad. I can't imagine how you are feeling.I am sorry that I didn't get the chance to know him better, but to hear you talk about him, I know how much you all loved him. If there is anything I can do, know that the boys and I are here for you. Love, Lisa, Owen and Logan

We always called him "Little Ed" because his father was "Big Ed." Didn't make much difference because they were both tall, strong, and very good looking. No wonder that my sister Norma Jean (one of the heroes of my life) loved them both so much. I have always been closest to Sandy and Darlene so I reach out to you both with deep feelings about your terrible loss (I miss you both very much) but in writing this I reach out to all those who were close to Eddie (we always thought of him as the elegant dancer), especially his sons and grand children. Think of him often and always focus on the good times you had together. I owe so much of the success and joys of my life to Norma Jean who was one of the most remarkable people I have ever known, so I have a very special place in my heart and memories for everyone in her wonderful extended family. I am attaching an original poem of mine that I hope will assure you that Eddie is in heaven and at peace and will be watching the exciting adventures yet in store for you all. Allen Schmieder

IMMORTALITY

HE PARTED THE HEAVENS,

EXTENDED HIS GRACEFUL ARMS,

AND COMMANDED:

"LET THERE BE SEAS,"

AND OCEANS BUBBLED INTO LIFE

AND FLOWED AROUND THE WORLD.

AND THEN HE ASKED THE LAND TO RISE,

AND THE SEAS WERE SPLIT,

AND DARK EARTH ROSE ABOVE THE WET

TO MEET THE WARMING SUN.

AND THEN WITH CREATURES EVERYWHERE,

HE FILLED THE LAND, AND SEA, AND AIR.

AND IT WAS DONE, AND GOOD, AND GOD.

BUT WHO COULD SHARE HIS HAPPINESS,

HIS LOVE OF THIS NEW LAND?

WHO COULD REALLY UNDERSTAND?

AND SUDDENLY HE KNEW, AND SMILED,

AND RAISED HIS GODLY ARMS ONCE MORE,

AND TURNED INTO HUMANITY,

AND GAVE US IMMORTALITY!

I also got to know Sandy as she got older and traveled to Arizona to visit us. I watch her graduate from Pima College. I remember Buddy, Sharon, Eddie and Sandy because they were born before I left Wesleyville and headed to Grad school at Penn State. I will keep them and their complete families in my prayers.

It just feels like yesterday that we were all packed up to go on a trip to Disney, Cedar point, or Camping (mom loved camping)there was just so much you done with us kids and it all feels like yesterday. With Christmas being tomorrow I remember the family coming over for dinner Christmas Eve and Santa stopping over the house before he set out for his long night. A Sleepless night would follow by running down the stairs to open presents (I know we have to wait until you and mom get up before we can start) in the morning. Dad I’ll always be thinking of you in everything I do. I love you dad your son.

Dear Sandy and Nancy,
I knew you and Eddie when you went to Wattsburg High School. We are working on our 40th reunion and looking for Eddie's address, since we invite back a few years, and was shocked to see his passing. Of course I had a crush on Eddie and you were my good friends. Of course it has been over 40 years since I've seen you so I don't expect you to remember me but know you have my deepest sympathy and many fond memories.

I was shocked when Sandra called and told me about Eddie. I have not seen him since he left Erie, but I have many, many memories of him and will cherish them always. He was a very good dancer and always a mellow person.
