Eleanor L. Herrick Renaud

Eleanor L. Herrick Renaud, age 89, of North East died Monday, October 22, 2012 at her residence. She was born on November 4, 1922 in North East, Pa. to the late Julius and Helen Nece Herrick. Eleanor graduated from North East High School in 1940. She was employed as a draftsman for Hill & Hill Civil Engineering. Eleanor was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of North East where she formerly served as church elder and was involved with church functions and weddings receptions. She was a member of the North East Junior Women's Club, Welcome Wagon, McCord Memorial Library Board, Girls Scouts of America, Lakeview Country Club and Bridge Club. Eleanor was talented and creative, enjoyed gardening, and was an accomplished seamstress. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ernest P. Renaud, whom she married June 10, 1944; daughters, Susan (Stephen) Schantz of Pittsburgh, Judy (Tim) Schroedl of Silverdale, Wash., Ann Renaud and husband Gene Cross of Atlantic Highlands, N.J.; grandchildren, Megan Hill, David Schantz, John Bial, Nick Bial, Greg Bial, Andrew Cross, Meredith Cross; great-grandchildren, Clara and Katie Schantz; sisters, Dorothy Thomson of Erie and Beth Davis of Rochester. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 S. Lake Street, North East on Thursday 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 25 West Main Street, North East.
