Frank Artise Obituary


Frank J. Artise, age 82, of North East, died peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 29, 1933, in Erie, Pa., to the late Pascal (Pat) and Anna Infantino Artise.

Frank was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army.

He was a self-employed plumber in North East for 42 years.

Frank was a member of St. Gregory Church, North East American Legion Post 105, North East V.F.W. Post 4789, and the Brotherhood of St. Joseph.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Marie Haines and Nancy Grzelak; brothers, Russell Artise and Pascal B. (Pat) Artise, and an infant brother, George Artise.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Bolling Artise, whom he married October 17, 1953; children, Frank Artise (Heidi), David Artise (Beth), and Rosan Adkins (Steven) all of North East; a brother, Sam Artise (Victoria) of Harborcreek, a sister-in-law, Becky Artise of North East; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend a prayer service on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory Church. Interment will be held at St. Gregory Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Memorials may be made to the Community Nursing Service of North East, 7 Park Street, North East, PA 16428.

To Betty, Frank, David and the rest of the Artise family. My condolences on Frank's passing. I enjoyed doing business with Frank, as he was an honest man, and that is hard to find in his business. I believe he set a great example as a Christian husband and father, and I know he will be missed.
