My thoughts and prayers are with Skip, Kitty and Betsy and your families with the passing of Gary. He will always be "forever young" in my mind. Gary, the youngest of the cousins was always so sweet. The last time I saw Gary was in 1961 when our family moved to California. E-mails brought us together again and I enjoyed my communication with Schnee. He is beginning a new journey unlike anything he has ever experienced, but he will be missed. Love, Gumpy

I heard about the loss of my oldest friend one day before coming home to Erie for a family reunion. My mom called me to let me know because she knew I was planning to visit him as usual. I missed seeing him and I will miss seeing him the rest of my life. He was a sweet gentle man, and my long time friend. We were high school sweet hearts in ninth grade, and we have stayed in touch for the past 45 years. I know someday I will see him in the kingdom because he was saved while a patient in Latrobe Pa by a nice lady who used to visit him.
So I am comforted by that. I also remember his little white travel trailer, I used to visit with my kids in his backyard, playing with the cats and talking about school days. Our mutual friends, the smoking corner and skipping classes, going to New York to get beer etc. Gary was fun to be around and he never complained, he was just happy to be alive. We should all take a lesson from him. Love your friends, be happy, make the best of what you have, no matter how little. My prayers and love go to Skip, Kitty, Betsy, Jen and Diana. We will all miss him I know. Deb Smyklo

Gary’s heart was as big as his girth
and his soul gentle and inviting friendship.
I met him following the waft of 50’s music
…drifting from a backyard trailer,
He was my next-door neighbor and
friend.
I moved to Phoenix, but we kept in touch by email,
but with distance and encroachment of worldly matters
we lost touch. Goodbye friend, God Bless the Sutter Family.

I'm so sorry to hear about Gary, my heart goes out to the Sutter family and I know he will be deeply missed by everyone. I have so many memories from my teenage years..Jen and I used to go for rides in the car, especially if there were berries to be picked with Gary and so many fun conversations, I can't say enough what a shame it is for him to be gone.
