Helen Capani Obituary
Helen Gonda Capani, born on August 25, 1923, passed away peacefully, on July 28, 2014. She was the daughter of Slovak immigrants, the late Michael and Pauline Janosik Gonda.
Helen was raised on the family farm in Erie, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her husband Peter Capani Jr.; sisters Margaret Randall and Anna Gonda; brothers Albert Gonda, Michael Gonda, Leonard Gonda; son-in-law Timothy Czebiniak; and great-granddaughter Selena Szatkowski.
Helen is survived by her children Peter and Sandra Capani, Lynn Capani-Czebiniak, Dennis and Maria Capani, Helen and Martin Foley, Joyce and David Cody, Donna Capani-Bostic, Mary Capani, Anne Capani, Joseph and Christine Capani; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren arriving by the end of the year; sister Eleanor Baxter; brothers John Gonda, Steve Gonda, Walt Gonda; brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff at Willow Point Nursing Home, who took exceptional care of her for the past six years. Helen G. the Scrabble Queen will be sorely missed.

Dearest mums, just 1 more hour, until they remove this guest book, from online...just 1 more time, for me to tell you, in writing, that I love you, so very much. I miss you, with ALL my heart. You were my best friend, I shall never, have another one, like you. I can never tell how much I miss you. It is a thorn, that will pierce my heart, as long as I shall live. Memories of what you mean to me, will echo forever, into eternity, as my love, for you. Thank you, precious darling, as a parent, now, I can only begin to imagine all that this little girl from Erie, sacrificed for me. I remember that you shared with me, memories of you, and your siblings, each, choosing their OWN respective trees, on the farm. You would dream your dreams, feeling the farm breezes, safely, securely, lulling you into peaceful dreams. Peaceful dreams to you, my dearest. When you get to heaven, your tree, will be THERE, lulling you, as it did, when you were a child. May our Lord, and Lady, embrace you, in eternity.

Always a joy to see you when you came to Erie. You have been an inspiration to me as a very kind and loving woman. Your voice was the sweetest one I have ever heard. You are a precious person, Aunt Helen, and missed by so many.
