Mary M. Manning

Mary M. Manning Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother Mary M. Manning, 88, of 18 Jefferson St., died Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Manning was born in Lewis Run on March 8, 1918, the daughter of the late Adam and Susan (Bonyko) Chohrach. She was the devoted wife of James J. Manning, who died January 18, 1953. They were married April 24, 1936 in Lewis Run. Mrs. Manning was a lifetime resident of the area and attended schools in Lewis Run. She was a member of St. Bernard Church and a former member of the Catholic Women’s Club. She had worked for 27 years at Loblaws Grocery Store and retired as manager of the Delicatessen. She is survived by four daughters, Sister Catherine Manning, SSJ, of Erie, Ann (James) Hayes of Katy, Texas, Nancy (Richard) Sposato of Bradford, Margaret (Thomas) Caputo of Corapolis; a sister, Dorothy Chohrach of Lewis Run; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three grandchildren, Kimberly Hayes, Steven Caputo and Robert Caputo; four brothers; and two sisters. Family will be receiving friends on Sunday, July 30, 2006 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., E. Main St. Friends are invited to attend a prayer service on Monday at 10 a.m., followed by a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernard Church at 10:30 a.m. with the most Rev. Donald W. Trautman, bishop of the Erie diocese, and the Rev. Leo Gallina, pastor of St. Bernard church as concelebrant. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. A Christian Wake Service will be held on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
