Nancy Artise

Nancy Artise passed on to be with the Lord on Saturday July 16, 2011 at the resident of her niece Loretta Rider in Fredonia, N.Y. with the assistants of Hospice. Prior to staying with her niece, she resided all of her life at 96 Wall Street, North East, Pa. She was the youngest of nine children born to Nancy Barone Cerrie and Frances Artise. Nancy lived a full life. She worked at Van Roalte Co. in her earlier years and also was a substitute teacher at St. Gregory's Catholic School. Nancy enjoyed cooking and baking. Her life was devoted to her family, and the good Lord blessed her with a beautiful blended family. Nancy was predeceased by her parents Nancy and Frances Artise, three brothers Benjamin Cerrie, Joseph Cerrie and Pascal Artise, five sisters Fanny (Cerrie) Constantino, Philamenna (Cerrie) Ippolito, Mary (Cerrie) Messina, Margaret Artise and Josephine (Artise) Marzullo. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and their families. Nancy was the last of her generation and leaves a legacy that is difficult to duplicate. A legacy and that her nieces and nephews of six generations can be proud of. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street North East on Tuesday July 19th, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and are invited to attend a prayer service on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gregory Church. Interment to be followed at St. Gregory Cemetery.
