My adult children & my 3 children currently attend RBWCC school Tamara Phillips & Traylin Phillips Erie High graduates of 2018&2019. And Taejalin Zocco 6 th, Shaylei Zocco 5, Szyael Zocco 4. My two stepsons also go there now Daniel Miller my two stepsons also go there now Daniel Miller 6 & David Miller David Miller 4. They loved Mr Russo for always being caring and present in their school life. He knew each and every student & always made time to listen to each student when they needed someone to talk to. He always thought of his students as family & it truly made him happy to see his former students succeed. I had the opportunity to work with him volunteering on the school's PTO & he always wanted to do anything possible to help the students learn & achieve their educational goals. Mr. Russo will be forever remembered by our family as a mentor. We have been fortunate to have had him teach & care our children. My children miss him dearly and always talk about memories they have when Mr. Russo was at RBWCCS. We are so sorry for your family's loss.

Pete, Flo and family - I just came across the news of Pete's passing. My heart goes out to all of you. Peter was a fabulous friend. I still remember the basketball games in the driveway, summer trips to get ice cream, and talking about the future during/after our college years. Pete brought joy to those around him. It is wonderful to learn of the impact he has had on so many people - just what we would expect of Peter. Prayers and best wishes from your former neighbors - Mark, Greta and Jane.

My condolences to all of the Russo family at the loss of Pete. He was one of my closest, dearest friends from 2nd grade at St. George all the way through high school at Prep and I will always remember the countless good times we had. What a great spirit and generous person he was, even back in his formative years. I've missed him in my life for a long time, and will continue to do so. All comfort and healing to the family, especially Pete, Sr. and Flo. God Bless you, Pete.

I'm thankful for the many things you taught me-about school, about people, about life and about myself. I'm thankful for the times you opened up and gave me a glimpse of you-I felt privileged and trusted in those moments. I'm thankful for the way we could always be straight-forward with each other-(colorful language and all) and never worry that either of us would be offended. I'm thankful for the daily modeling to not expect more of people than they can give, but to also not accept less than their potential. I will miss our after-school chats in my office, the random calls to ask what someone's extension is, your snarky responses to my snarky comments and the smile and laugh afterwards. Wishing you didn't have to go, but most of all, wishing you peace.

Pete and his girlfriend moved into my neighborhood when my friends and I were maybe 8-10 years old. Pete was in his mid-late 20s at the time. He used to play football with us in the street. Pete would always come home from the store with baseball cards and candy for the neighborhood kids. Sometimes he'd get us pizza and we'd watch movies with him at his house. He'd let us play in his yard when he wasn't home and would teach us card games in the garage. He was always looking out for us in some way. At that young of an age, we thought he was the coolest person we'd ever met.
He moved out a few years later and we never saw him again. That was 25+ years ago. I would get together with a buddy of mine and we'd talk about the old neighborhood, and Pete's name would always come up. We talked about looking him up and finding him again just to see how he was doing and to tell him thanks. I guess we waited too long.
It may be too late now, but thanks Pete.

My man, Pete Russo! When we found out about how ill he was, we were in a state of shock! His passing is unreal. What a wonderful guy. Pete helped ANYONE who needed his expertise, and for me, he was most instrumental with helping me get through some challenging coursework while completing my master's degree. Make no mistake, Pete was brilliant & his depth of knowledge was amazing. His love and appreciation for music was additionally impressive. Often, we would talk about the great musicians of the 70's and his collection of greats was incredible! The community lost a great man last week! Our deepest condolences go out to the Russo family during this difficult time.

So Sad to hear of Pete's passing. I had a corner store near the school and Pete would stop by many times during lunch or after school. He was such an interesting guy to talk to, but what I most remember was his interaction with his students. Anytime a student would walk by and see that Mr. Russo was in the store, they would stop in in talk to him (and almost always he would buy the student a snack and drink!). His students treated him like a Rockstar! Pete will definitely be missed.

Mr.Russo you will Forever be missed ! I love the bond we have created. Anytime I seen you it was laughs , jokes , and smiles. But I'm most happy that you were able to watch me and 2018 8th grade class graduate. It was such a blessing <3 I'm so happy I got to meet you before this very hurt passing. My deepest sympathy to your family. I had the privilege of working with Pete as his administrative assistant for the last seven years. He was a remarkable, caring man and I will miss him very much. I am very saddened to learn of the passing of Peter and my heart grieves with your family during this time of grief. Pete was a super person and I had the opportunity to work with him many years ago at the Warner Theater. I always admired his wit, charm and intelligence.
