Robert James Burrows Sr.

1955 - 2021

Robert James Burrows, Sr., a/k/a "Poo Bob," age 65, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at his home. He was born on July 20, 1955 to the late R. J. and Martha (Shaw) Burrows.

Robert worked for Moe's 1-Stop and enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing sports, playing lottery tickets, and gambling, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Willis Scott, and his stepfather Andrew Fox, Sr.

Robert will be remembered by his wife of more than 30 years, Mary M. (Selby) Burrows, brothers Elmor Burrows and Chester Burrows (Jackie), and Andrew Fox, Jr., all of Erie, sister Patricia Miles of Erie, sons Robert Burrows, Jr., Davon Selby (Tina), and Cody Johnston (Wanda), all of Erie, daughters Dorothy Jean Heinz of Detroit, Shakayla Moore (Malcolm), Roniaya Burrows, Teia McRae (Michael), Shara Gowdy (Hardy), and Ebony Crowell (Lenord), all of Erie, 20 grandchildren, including Tashara Beason, Melvin Henderson and Keniya Selby that he raised, 14 great-grandchildren, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is further survived by his close friends, Allan Pullium, Sr., Ronnie Hollingsworth, Yogi Troop, and Joe Salmi.

Following all current Covid-19 guidelines, visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 155 E. 21st St., Erie, PA 16503 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends may also attend the service virtually via Facebook Live at https://www.facebook.com/Edward-J-Garr-Funeral-Home-Inc-100130284712299/. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
