Salathiel Ramirez, "Tato" passed on October 1, 2015, was born January 1, 1948 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Ramona Gonzalez and Bienvenido Ramirez.
He retired from Fairview Evergreen Nurseries. He enjoyed being outdoors; his greatest passion was fishing at Erie's South Pier. He also enjoyed singing and playing his guitar at the family get-togethers, gardening, and working on cars. He was an excellent husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was well known and respected by many in the Erie community, as well as his hometown in Puerto Rico, as a great respectful man that valued family, kept his word, and always had a smile on his face.
He was preceded in death by Bienvenido Ramirez, Ramona Gonzalez, and Benigno Ramirez.
He is survived by Wilmaris Vargas, Leticia Ramirez, Bienvenido Ramirez Jr., Salathiel Ramirez Jr., Arely Torres (Luis Faccio), Aristides Torres, Luis E. Torres (Marlene Sanchez), Zuleika Torres, Margarita Ramirez, Ramonita Ramirez, Bienvenida Ramirez (Angel Caraballo), Lila Ramirez (Israel Olivera), Silvia Ramirez (Wilson Torres); and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be Monday, October 5, 2015, at the Law Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Avenue, 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with services immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Overseer Sonny Conception, officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Pitts Funeral Home.
