Sharon Hiles Obituary

Sharon Lee Potter Hiles Loving Grandmother Sharon L. Potter Hiles, 51, 11682 Rt. 97, Waterford, died Friday, December 2, 2005 after a two year courageous battle with liver cancer. She was born September 25, 1954, in Erie, the daughter of Sara Helen Mortimer Potter of Erie and the late Burnam Potter. She graduated from Fort LeBoeuf High School in 1972, and was a graphic designer with McCarty Printing for over 27 years. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling in the Sisters Tournament at Rolling Meadows. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sara Mortimer. Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Bill Hiles; a son, Billy Hiles and his wife Kate, of Erie; a daughter, Jennifer Richardson and her husband John, of Cambridge Springs; a stepdaughter, Lisa Stanley and her husband Jerry, of Norfolk, Va.; five sisters, Beverly Roberts and her husband Mark, of Enon Valley, Pa., Lynette Edwards and her husband Al, Deborah Potter, Lori Regal and her husband John, and Lisa Musheru, all of Erie; two brothers, Charles Potter and his wife Susan, of Wattsburg, and Kenneth Potter of Erie; four grandchildren, Libby and James Hiles, Megan Richardson, and Katie Stanley; and many nieces and nephews. She was affectionately known as Aunt Honey. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 602 W. 10th St. Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and are invited to services there Monday at 10 a.m., with Reverend Jim Eaton, of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Great Lakes Hospice, 1700 Peach St., Suite 244, Erie, PA 16501-2134, or the American Cancer Society, 2115 W. 38th St., Erie, PA 16508. Sharon was always such a cheerful, upbeat person. She had such a great personality. I'm sure she is keeping the angels smiling in heaven.
