Timothy King Obituary


Timothy B. King, formerly of Erie, passed away at age 84 on Thursday, January 2, 2014 in St. Louis, Mo.

He served in the Armed Forces of the United States during the Korean War. He then graduated from Penn State University, School of Business in 1959 and pursued a career in Accounting. He lived in the Erie, Pa. area for over 30 years. He was an active supporter of the Boy Scouts with his sons. While battling cancer himself, he volunteered at the Erie Regional Cancer Center. He had the ability to connect easily with others and could make them feel more comfortable.

The beloved husband of 57 years to the late Jane Shettel King, he is survived by his children he loved so much: Karen (Ed) Arcuri of Leesburg, Va., Kathy (Bob) Saitz of St. Louis, Mo., Timothy B. (Joan) King, Jr. of Paradise Valley, Ariz., Susan King of Sarasota, Fla., and Chris (Rebecca) King of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; dear grandfather of ten; dear brother of David L. (Liz) King, and the late Joyce (Dick) Maffei; dear brother-in- law of Carol (Elmer) Stapf of Camp Hill, Pa. and the late Margaret (Arch) Knisely of Lancaster, Pa.; dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

A memorial service will be held at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home All Faith Chapel, 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave.) on Saturday, April 26 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Keith Sundberg officiating.

Memorials may be made to The Regional Cancer Center, 2500 West 12th St., Erie, PA 16505.
