Victor Morse Obituary

Victor E. Morse Victor E. Morse, 85, of 1415 Oakmont Ave., Millcreek, died Saturday, September 18, 2004 at Fairview Manor. He was born in Erie, November 12, 1918, son of the late Melvin E. and Ethel Dunbar Morse. He was named Victor E. in recognition of V.E. Day, the allied victory of WW I, in Europe. He served as an officer in the United States Navy for 4 ½ years during WW II. After attending Erie Business School, he enjoyed a long and successful career in the insurance industry, retiring from American General Life and Casualty in 1983. He was a gifted musician, sharing his talents on the piano with his family and friends throughout his life. He was a member of St. Julia Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kathryn Dufala Morse; a son Dr. David V. Morse and his wife Karen of Allison Park, PA; a daughter, Lorraine Dolan and her husband Dennis of North East; a brother, Dr. William C. Morse and his wife Sunny of Ann Arbor MI. Further survived by three grandchildren, Jessamy and Jamison Morse and Andrew Dolan and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Burton West Lake Funeral Home, 3816 West Lake Road, Monday from 10:30 a.m. until time of prayers at 11:45 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 12 noon at St. Julia Church with Monsignor Richard J. McGuire celebrant. Memorials may be made to St. Julia Church, 638 Roslyn Avenue, Erie, PA 16505 or to the American Heart Association, 823 Filmore Ave., Erie, PA 16505.
