I still think of Vivian every day. She was a good friend and a great storyteller. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was so wonderfully human and fun.
Vivian gave her time and helped many sick and dying people. She was gifted and loved her family immensely.

Not a day goes by that you aren't on my mind. Love you Mama. Miss your wit and wisdom. I hope the reunion with Marsha was joyous. She is sincerely missed here, but I love that you, Dad, Bert and Marsha are together. Watch over us all please. Love you, Ma.

Our family wishes to extend sincere appreciation and thank you to friends, neighbors, family, nurses, and friends of friends for the outpouring of love and kindness as we walked the final journey with our mother. She was obviously well loved in the community and touched many people in many ways. The meals, flowers, acts of kindness, cards, love, kind words, and care have been greatly appreciated by all of us. Our mother was truly one of a kind, and we will work hard to make her proud. From Viv's kids, grandkids, and great grand kids.....Thank you.

Vivian was a beautiful and caring lady. In her senior years at Benetwood she took under her wing the care and concern of others who were ill or needed a friend to talk with. She had a remarkable sense of humor which could hardly be outwitted, and she usually got the final word. (I bet she's telling God a joke right now.) With Vivian, you could be yourself and feel at ease as long as you kept yourself grounded and did not put on airs. She loved her family fiercely, and made them the most important part of her life. I knew her children before I met them because she told many good things about them as she swelled with pride at their accomplishments. Vivian loved Sister Pat at Benetwood, liked to tease her about the chipmunk, and bragged about how Sister Pat loved her apple pie. She loved all the staff and would be your friend if you would be hers.
Vivian and I baked Christmas cookies together, shared jokes, and played Chinese checkers during her last days. Out of at least 20 games, I never won a single one.
One day Vivian asked me to sit stone silent as she told me the story of the groundhog, Billy, she had raised from its infancy. It became her pet and stayed with her for two years before going back to the wild.
There was so much goodness in Vivian that it would consume an entire book.
My sincerest condolences to her children, grandchildren, and all her family and friends. She loved each one very much. Her friend, Todd, was like a second son to her.
I will miss Vivian and pray a blessing of comfort for all of us who knew her and loved her, and for Vivian, peace and joy with God who knew of her loving soul.
