ERWIN - Donald Edward English, age 76, Erwin, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Center on Aging and Health after a lengthy illness. He is a son of the late Theodore and Linnie Franklin English and a life-long resident of Unicoi County.
Donald was a United States Army Veteran who served his country honorably during the Vietnam War.
Donald was of the Baptist Faith. He worked as a heavy equipment operator along with his brother, Ronald, for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by one brother, Ted English.
Donald is survived by his loving companion of twenty-seven years, Nina Griffith; his brother, Ronald English and wife, Sharon of Flag Pond; one stepdaughter, Gina Loyd; one grandson, Lee Hoe and wife, Britany; his little dog, Buddy; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Donald's graveside service will be held Friday, November 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the English Family Cemetery, behind 1916 Edwards Branch Road, Flag Pond. Reverend David Effler and Harley Ramsey will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 PM Friday.
