Pen Argyl, PA
PEN ARGYL Aonghus Oakley Ames "Goose" Miller was born on Sunday, June 12, 2005 at home with his family and left the same way on Sunday, October 10, 2021. He was named after the celtic God of Love. He was a lover not a fighter. Always had a smile on his face and something nice to say. Aonghus attended Pen Argyl High School; he loved the school and what it stood for. Math, science and history were his favorite classes. He planned to attend CIT for machining and tooling. Anyone who knows him, knows his big smile and generous heart. He taught himself CAD design during covid to help with his 3D printing and designing. He loved all things Marvel and Star Wars. He made and sold para cord bracelets and dog gear to make money to fuel his constant improvements on his 2005 Tacoma. He loved listening to old early 2000 country, as well as a lot of Ryan Upchurch. He had a warm relationship with his little dog, Buddy. He enjoyed going to Stone Harbor in the summers and out-tanned his sister annually. He loved cooking all kinds of foods, made an excellent pork rub and the best hollandaise sauce. He was a builder of many things: potato guns, legos, 3d prints. He enjoyed archery, had a collection of knives he started when he was two. He was looking forward to being a gunsmith. He took much pride in being the BEST uncle, even trying to out-gift his brother. He was either lounging or working in his skivvies or all decked out in his button downs and cowboy boots. If you saw someone in Wind Gap Giant in a kilt, it was likely Aonghus. He is loved and so missed by his parents, Deb Ames Miller and Mike Miller; "The Siblings", Aaron DeFranco and his wife Julie, from Bangor, Catherine Miller from Easton, Chaela Miller and her partner Avery from Pen Argyl, Nica and husband Drew Hoagland from Wind Gap, Liam Miller USMC; he is the proud uncle to Caiden, Lilly, Sage, Henry, Harper and Hank! His Uncle Wade and Auntie Anna; cousins Nico and Alia Ames from Bethlehem; grandparents Gary and Toni Ames of Wind Gap, Charlotte Miller of Bushkill Township. Grandfather, Chris Miller, passed in 2019. And his friends, Cole Engleby, Gavin Schlegel and Frankie and Mila Wasilewski. Viewing 5 to 7 Wednesday, at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at his brother and sister's home, 186 Rissmiller Lane, Wind Gap, at 3pm Thursday. Join us for prayer, song, food and memories of this wonderful young man. It is requested that Hawaiian or Marvel attire be worn. It's taken me a long time to decide what to write on here. I am still not sure. There are just no words when it comes to the loss of such a great young man. The more I'm reading these amazing things people are writing about you the more I realize you truly were an angel on earth. I was blessed to know you and be your Auntie Anna for 16 years. I wish we all had more time with you but God had other plans. I loved the relationship you had with your cousins Nico and Alia. This is hard for us all to understand but we are all trying. Pap has now joined you in heaven and I imagine it was a beautiful reunion.
We love you and promise you will never be forgotten AO. Love you always.

Miss you kid. Not a day will go by where I’m not influenced by you and your legacy. You have been so strong and I admire you so much for that man. Thanks for all the awesome memories and cool things you’ve gifted me over the years. I’m never going to forget all the times we spent together playing games, creating things, watching your favorite shows and movies and just talking. You’re so kind, giving, funny, innovative, clever and wise and I admire you so much. You knew so much about so many things and I was always learning from you. Love you and miss you forever lil cuz

I first met Aonghus when I came to live with Mike & Deb in 2008/9. He was only a young boy but his smile and laughter lit up the room. He loved to play with the dogs and make fun of my British accent. So much so that when the Gecko from the Geico commercial came on the tv he would always say to me “Dave do the Gecko” to which I happily obliged. It was great fun living in that crazy house and little Aonghus was always part of it. I never knew him as he grew up but I always figured he would go great things. How could he not with such great family around him. It fills me with tremendous sadness to know that the family have lost such a sweet, young soul. It’s not fair how this life plays out sometimes but everyone is a better person for knowing him that’s for certain. All my love. Dave (the Gecko man)

Over a year ago, I had one of the worst days in my recent memory having to take a family member to the ER. That same day, I sold Aonghus his Tacoma that he loved so very much.

I had already made plans with Deb, Mike and Aonghus to meet at the shop but had to push that time back because of the family emergency. I was extremely stressed out and to be honest, probably should have post poned our original planned time. But I remember Aonghus being really excited to get the truck so I decided it might be better to keep my mind going and stick to the plan.

I'm very glad I did because it brought me so much joy seeing him so excited to get this truck! He had many plans for it (which he did do!) and couldn't wait to drive it. He even took a picture of me handing him the keys, which I thought was hilarious - I loved it! I don't think Aonghus realized how happy and fulfilled he made me feel that night. His kindness and pure joy overwhelmed any form of sadness or anxiety I had been feeling all day long. He was that type of guy.

I, like many people, will never forget you and your kind soul. RIP Aonghus

I miss you every minute of the day. I miss hearing your voice, your stories, your ideas, your plans, your jokes and puns, your "hey mama", your smile, your sleeping face, your trail through the house, your projects everywhere, your energy and vibe, going for rides in the taco, dirty elvis, scoping out Ace hardware, kayaking at Minsi, walking at Jacobsburg or wherever else you felt like going, lighting things on fire, listening to your music. I am having a hard time balancing my heart and head right now and you are good at helping me with that. Your perspective and insight is a special gift, just like the rest of you. Love youuuuu.

I would like to offer my sympathies and prayers to the Miller family during this difficult time. I'm currently a senior at Pen Argyl, and while I did not know Aonghus personally, I just have to say that I am inspired by the positive life that he lived. I keep hearing stories of his smile, uplifiting attitude, and unprecedented kindness. While his life was shorter than most people get to live, there is certainly no doubt that he lived it to the absolute fullest and spent every day he had leaving an important impact behind him. Aonghus made the world a better place in his sixteen years of life than most people do with their entire lives. He embodied our Knight's code with a wonderful vengeance, choosing to be a source of light and positivity even through trials. He will always be remembered at Pen Argyl with a smile as a model Knight for our future Knights.

AO,

While this week has been one of the toughest ever for our family it doesn't compare to what you've been through the past two years. I admire the way you handled yourself through all you had thrown at you at such a young age and your courage to fight so long and so hard. I also admire and will miss your easy going personality, your quite confidence to be you in a world where most kids just try to fit in. I admire your selflessness to put others first and your great love for family and friends. We felt that love in every hug and moment we spent together as a family over the past 16 years. I will forever miss those big hugs, those moments together and the love we shared. God had other plans for you and I pray one day we will all see some good come from this pain we feel now. I will love you forever and will miss you always. Rest in peace little buddy.
Love you,

Uncle Wade

Dearest Miller Family. Just read this most sorrowful obituary of a beautiful young man who had so much to offer the world. He was with out a doubt going places in life. Our world sure needs more young folks like your son. Though I do not know the Miller Family, I just had to offer my deepest condolences. May the blessings of our Heavenly Father bring you peace and understanding. Anonymous in Florida.
