FORKS TOWNSHIP Charlene Louise (Hughes) Reimel, 75, of Forks Twp., passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, September 13, 2021. Born on July 16, 1946, in Bangor, PA she was the daughter of the late David Hughes Jr and Berniece (Buskirk) Hughes. She was the wife of Bruce A Reimel, they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on Sunday, September 12, 2021. She and Bruce enjoyed going on dates to the movies, having breakfast at their favorite diner, and spending time together. They shared a simple life of love for 57 years. Charlene graduated from Bangor High School class of 1964. She worked in the garment industry at various Slate Belt blouse mills while raising her children. Later in life, she worked at both Lafayette College and Bangor School District in the foodservice division. Charlene was a member of UNITE, the garment workers union, the Class of 1964 Reunion committee, and Lockwood Congress Homeowners association. Charlene will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Her selfless nature and giving spirit were the cornerstones of what made her special to all who knew her. Charlene doted on her grandchildren and enjoyed attending all their activities. Spending time with Erika, Ian, Paige, Aaron, Parker, and Preston was what made her happiest. She loved babysitting, playing games, cooking, and reading with them. Even as her health declined, she was able to celebrate a milestone 75th surprise birthday party with dear family and friends in mid-July of this year. Her smile on that day will live on in our hearts and memory forever. She was of the Lutheran faith. In addition to her loving husband, Bruce, Charlene is survived by Daughter Sharon Sabatine, wife of Mikal, Son Blaine Reimel, husband of Tara, Sister Mary Lou Majdeski wife of Henry, Grandchildren Erika Pados, wife of Joshua; Ian and Aaron Sabatine, Paige, Parker and Preston Reimel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a sister Lynda Hughes, a brother David Hughes III, and beloved pets Abbey and Rusty. Services are private at the convenience of the family.
