WIND GAP Mamie Zucal, 94, of Wind Gap, passed away, Monday, October 4, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Pocono Hospice House, East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Frank Zucal. Born in Roseto, July 29, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Quintino and Josephine (Gallucci) Martino. Prior to retiring, Mamie was employed as a seamstress for over 40 years where she perfected her craft, performing various functions within the blouse mill industry. She was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, Pen Argyl and UNITE formerly the ILGWU. Mamie was an avid bingo player, an expert in solving complicated crossword puzzles and was always willing to lend a helping hand to relatives, friends, and her neighbors. She absolutely loved cooking for family especially Italian dishes. She is survived by a son, Frank C. Zucal and his wife Bonnie M. of Bethlehem, two grandchildren, Alyson C. Zucal, and Kendra Sutter and her husband Peter, two great grandchildren, Scarlett and Stella Sutter, a son-in-law, Peter Fox of Aurora, IL, a sister, Dorothy Steinmetz and her husband Harold of Roseto and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie M. Fox, a sister, Rose Widenor, and three brothers, Nicholas, Daniel and Salvatore Martino as well as John Zorochin, her long time partner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, 300 W. Babbitt Avenue, Pen Argyl. There will be a viewing, Thursday beginning at 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at the church. Interment will be in St. Elizabeth's Cemetery, Pen Argyl.
