EASTON Thomas W. Vogel, 91, of Easton, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in Country Meadows. Born November 4, 1930 in Easton, PA, he was the son of the late Karl and Prudence (Sutton) Vogel. He and his wife, Catherine (Korte) Vogel, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 3, 2021. Tom was a 1948 graduate of Easton High School and received a B.A. in business from Rider University. He owned and operated Korte Meats for over 30 years. Tom loved his dogs. He enjoyed watching sports especially college basketball and football, traveling in his motor home, sailing his boat on the lake, and eating at buffets. He was also a competitive card player. Surviving in addition to his wife, Catherine, are four children, Amy Vargas and her husband Jesus, of Dallas, TX, Debbie Vogel Bossert and her husband Ernie, of Easton, Cathy Vogel, of Saylorsburg, and Thomas K. Vogel and his wife Barbara, of Easton; six grandchildren, Charlie and David Vargas, Alison Testa and her husband Brian, Deanna Bossert, Matthew Vogel and his fiancee Danielle, and Martin Vogel and his wife Lauren; and two great-granddaughters. Private services are under the direction of the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Easton. My sincerest condolences to Catherine and the entire Vogel family. I will always have fond memories of Tom and the time I spent with him and your family. And will be forever grateful for Tom giving me my start in the working world and and how you both welcomed me back so graciously to work whenever I could during my college years. So sorry to hear of your loss. He was a great friend of ours. Last we saw Tom and Kathryn was at their home in Vegas. Tom was also a good friend of mine being a butcher at my store - Palmer Butcher Shop. I bought a lot of meat from him. To his Kathryn and family, Tom was a wonderful person. We will miss him.
