Samuel Lipscomb Obituary

Funeral services for Samuel "Sammy" Lipscomb, 80, will be held Wednesday, July 25, at 2 p.m. at Christian Life Church. The Rev. Ken Jackson will officiate and burial will follow in Memory Gardens with Chapman Funeral Home of Eufaula directing.

Mr. Lipscomb died Saturday, July 21, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan.

Born March 5, 1932 in Henry County, he was the son of the late Clarence and Lorene Dobbs Lipscomb.

Mr. Lipscomb was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Christian Life Church. He retired from Dixon Lumber Co. after 37 years as a forest technician. He served four terms as a Eufaula City Councilman from 1996 to present time.

Survivors include son, Darby (Sarah) Lipscomb of Eufaula; brother, James M. (Sarah Ann) Lipscomb of Abbeville; four sisters, Myrtle L. (William) Chalkley of Columbus, Ga., Mary (Mitchell) Jernigan of Clayton, Eva Lois Henry of Cottonwood and Delaphane White of Abbeville; granddaughter, Bailey Evans.

Active pallbearers are Dennis Williams, Trevor Dowling, Stan Hammond, Craig Houston, Tim Marsh and Earl White.

I'm sorry to hear about Mr Sammy I knew him when he worked at Dixions with my mother he was a very sweet man my prayers go out to his family
