Dear Rentzel family,
A conversation between Mr. Rentzel and I usually lasted for hours. Even a chance encounter along Wago Road turned into an hour plus discussion on local history. We talked of collaborating on a book of barns of East Manchester Twp., when we had the time. We talked of a leisurely drive down Wago Road to discuss and document the many historical ruins found there, when we had the time. He talked of playing the trombone again in the Emigsville Band when he had the time. We talked of walking down to a spring recently rebuilt in one of his pastures by a friend, when he had time. Now there is no more time. We talked of farming and life and family and history and I never tired of our conversation. So much was left unsaid. So much information lost forever. When will I learn to make the time?
With deepest sympathy and regrets,

April 16, 2012

I want to express my sympathy to the entire Rentzel family. I only met Pastor Rentzel twice but my brother-in-law Dean Welty spoke of him in glowing terms. When Dean died Pastor Rentzel provided one of the eulogies at his funeral service. He was very nice to my sister during this time. Without question, he will be missed at Trinity Church.

Cathy, Sarah and Rebecca, I am so sorry for your loss, for your families loss. However, heaven has gained quite the gifted storyteller. I'm sure he will have all the saints laughing at his farm jokes. When we arrive at heaven, we will know where to find Brad. We just need to look for the crowd. I pray that the Holy Spirit gives you comfort and strength for the days ahead. Kathleen Redding

Pastor Brad will be so missed you can't find words. He made such a difference in so many lives. I know he made a big one in Parkers. So many people are called GOOD OLD BOYS. Well Brad was the truest meaning of that. He would help anyone he could. It was a pleasure knowing him. Rest in peace my friend.

The promise of our faith is that Brad's passing is not the end but rather the begining of life anew. But' while I know that, I am sadened by his passing. I truly enjoyed him, the time he helped lead Mt. Zion, his gentleness and soft spoken style and sense of humor. He was a genuine "good guy" and will be missed by many. I echo the comments of the DeMers family, well done thy good and faithful servant, the time has come to retrieve your crown and enjoy the music of Heaven's angels. May God grant his family comfort and peace in this time of sorrow. The Maletz family.
