Calvin Krug Obituary

HANOVER Calvin E. Krug, 81, entered into God's eternal care Sunday, November 25, 2007, at his home. Born in Littlestown on May 6, 1926, he was the son of the late John W. and Alverta Hoff Krug. Calvin retired from Emeco Industries in 1988 after 20 years of employment. A veteran of World War II, he served his country with duty, honor, and pride as an Army Private First Class with the 413th Infantry in the European Theater of Operations. For his service PFC Krug was awarded the Bronze Star for valor, Combat Infantryman Badge, E.A.M.E. Campaign Medal with one Bronze Star and the Army of Occupation Medal. Calvin was a member of AMVETS Hanover Post 22 and Hanover American Legion Post 14. He will be missed by many who often ate at the Carlisle Street McDonald's, walked the Hanover Mall, or attended Beef Pot Pie Dinner's at the Pleasant Hill Fire Co. He is survived by five children, Douglas E. Krug and Deboraha E. Baugher, both of Hanover, John C. Krug of Wyoming, Cynthia K. Meckley of Spring Grove, and Mona Lisa Kinsman of Florida; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Krug of Nevada; and his favorite companion, 'Fuzzy' the cat. Calvin was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and John Krug. His funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2007, at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover. Viewing will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth S. Heasley officiating.
