Dakota Skye Wright, 4, passed away tragically on Tuesday, November 22, 2016
Born March 28, 2012 in Hanover, she was a daughter of Joshua K. and Ginger L. (Morgan) Wright, both of Hanover.
Dakota was a very high energy girl with an infectious smile. She loved everyone and knew no enemies or strangers. Dakota would say hi to everyone she passed just to make them smile. Koda loved to sing and often woke us up singing Christina Perrys "Thousand Years". If anyone was sad, she would sing them "All of Me" by John Legend. Dakota loved Mickey and Minnie, My Little Pony, but Rainbow Dash was her favorite. Koda was a very smart child, we worked with her often. She was so excited to go to school in the fall and now she will never get the chance. She asked the other day "how many sleeps till school"? In which we responded about 300, she said "that's too long, I want to go now"; asking "how many sleeps" was her way of telling time, everything was how many sleeps till this or that.
In addition to her parents, Dakota is survived by five siblings, Natalie Meckley of Hanover, Dillon, Savannah, Alexandria, and Madison Wright, all of Benson, NC; maternal grandmother, Ruth Ann Morgan and her companion, Peter Pandeles of Hanover; maternal grandfather, Ralph "Corky" Metz; paternal grandparents, Tammy L. Horton of Linden, NC and Keith Wright and his wife, Lydia of Fayetteville, NC; an aunt, Jessica Brewington of Linden, NC; four uncles, Paul Metz, Cristopher Metz of Lake Havasu, AZ, Michael Morgan of Fayetteville, NC, JT Robinson of Linden, NC. Dakota is also survived by many other loving extended family members and friends. Dakota was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Lawrence Morgan, Jr.
A service to celebrate the life of Dakota will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with Pastor Timothy J. Kielley officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and then again on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Pallbearers will be Joshua K. Wright, JT Robinson, Troy Heath, Michael Jenkins, Peter Pandeles, and Rick White.

Ginger, I know this may not ease your pain but I knew your dad through the Boy Scouts. He spoke often of you and how much he loved you. You can rest assured that your dad was at the gates of Heaven as soon as she arrived and took her lovingly into his arms. If Heaven has playgrounds, he'll take her there. If Heaven has fields, they'll be chasing lightening bugs and butterflies. She will never be alone because he will always be by her side. If there is any consolation to be found in this tragedy, it's that your dad will be there every day for her until you are able to be with her again. My heart goes out to the entire family. Know that you are in the whole of Hanover's thoughts and prayers.
