Elizabeth Bechtel Obituary
York - Elizabeth M. Bechtel, age 89, passed away on January 24, 2021 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. She was the loving wife of Sterling R. Bechtel; together they shared over 65 years of marriage.
Elizabeth was born on September 22, 1931 in Spring Grove and was the daughter of the late Claude E. and Mary (Klinedinst) Heiner. She enjoyed volunteering for the York Lutheran Home at Hershey Park, and the Hanover Council of Churches. She also liked camping, cooking, and playing games with her family.
In addition to her husband Sterling, Elizabeth is survived by her sons Thomas Bechtel and wife Linda and Steven Bechtel and wife Deborah; and her grandchildren Michael, Joshua, and Kyle. She was preceded in death by her infant son Larry Allen Bechtel; her brother Eugene Heiner; and her sisters Dorothy Wagner and Irene Sterner.
A viewing will be held on Saturday from 12:00-2:00 at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. 175 N. Main St. Spring Grove PA 17362. A graveside service will follow at Christ Roth's Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines and in compliance with health and public safety directives, those attending the viewing will be required to wear masks and social distance. Attendance inside the funeral home will be limited to 25 people at a time.
