Joseph Borowick Obituary

HANOVER Joseph Borowick, 87, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at Hanover Hall. Born on May 3, 1927, in Monaville, W.Va., he was a son of the late Paul and Eva Rusinka Borowick and husband of 56 years to Patricia Spangler Borowick, who died in 2013. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ludwig Borowick, and a sister Eva M. Borowick. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country during World War II and Korea. In his life, he had studied over 50,000 minerals and had a collection of 1900 different minerals from all over the world. He was a very caring man, whose family was his focus. The last of his immediate family, he is survived by a sister-in-law, Lorraine E. Stonesifer of Hanover; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2014, at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover, with The Rev. Lawrence W. Sherdel officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Annunciation BVM Church, 26 N. Third St., McSherrystown, PA 17344. Dear Aunt Kitty we are so saddened by Uncle Joe's passing. My Mom really enjoyed sharing stories with Uncle Joe as they shared a similar up bringing. Adam and I are here in Hanover and will see you tomorrow.
