Malcolm L. Markle

HANOVER Malcolm L. Markle, 85, entered into God's eternal care Saturday, December 20, 2014, at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center. Malcolm was the loving husband of Charlotte M. (Reichart) Markle, who died March 30, 2012. Born November 16, 1929, in Hanover, he was the son of the late John P. and Mertie H. (Wentz) Markle. Mr. Markle was a graduate of Eichelberger High School Class of 1947. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover. Malcolm retired from being a stone mason, working most of his life in the Hanover area. Mr. Markle enjoyed woodworking and was very detail-oriented, especially in the painting and finishing of his work. Malcolm is survived by four children, Brian R. Markle of Shippensburg, Bruce A. Markle of Hanover, Bradford L. Markle of Taylorsville, N.C., and Brent D. Markle of Easton; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Broderick C. Markle, and a brother, James Markle. A funeral service to celebrate and remember Malcolm's life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, with his son, Pastor Brian R. Markle, officiating. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
