Margaret A. Lerew

Margaret A. (Lillich) Lerew, 92, formerly of East Berlin, died Sunday, December 17, 2006 at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford. She was the wife of 66 years of the late J. Calvin Lerew who died January 8, 1999. Born July 24, 1914, in Hamilton Twp., Adams Co., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Velva (Fissel) Lillich. Mrs. Lerew was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, East Berlin and was a nurse at the Brethren Home Community for over 20 years. She is survived by a son, John C. Lerew, Jr. of East Berlin; two daughters, Jacquelyn L. Messinger and Debra A. King, both of East Berlin; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Daniel Lillich of Hanover; and two sisters, Katherine Grim of York and Jeanette Utz of Hanover. She was preceded in death by a son, William H. Lerew; a grandson, Joel E. Messinger; two brothers, Alvin and John Lillich; and a sister, Grace Weaver. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Trinity Lutheran Church, W. King St., East Berlin with her pastor the Rev. Dr. William L. Lindsay officiating. Burial will be in East Berlin Union Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Serving as pallbearers will be: Gary Lerew, Ronald Lerew, Mark Messinger, Kevin Messinger, Matthew King and Chris Wagaman.
