Paul Reifsnider Obituary

GETTYSBURG Paul M. Reifsnider, Sr., 78, formerly of Hanover, en tered into God's eternal care Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at Gettysburg Hospital. Born February 20, 1930, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Guy M. and Madeline Warner Reifsnider and was a husband of the late Arlene K. Mummert, who died in 2003. Mr. Reifsnider retired in 1995 from Hanover Terminal, Inc., where he was a truck driver. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Church of the Open Door in Westminster, Md., Hanover VFW Post #2506, Loyal Order of the Moose #227, and was a lifetime member of the AMVETS Post #22. Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia M. Davis of Jacobus and Robin Robinson of Gettysburg; two sons, Paul M. Reifsnider, Jr. of Washington and Eugene Reifsnider of Smithsburg, Md.; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a special caregiver and family member, Bobbi. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover, with the Rev. Carroll Luckenbaugh officiating. The committal service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Meadow Branch Cemetery in Westminster, Md. The viewings will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. A celebration of Paul's life will be observed at 3 p.m. Saturday at Genesis The Gettysburg Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesis The Gettysburg Center, 867 York Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
