Raymon Dubs Obituary

HANOVER Raymon J. "Jere" Dubs, Jr., 75, entered into God's eternal care Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at home with his loving family by his side. Raymon was the loving husband of Colleen F. (Roth) Doll Dubs, to whom he was married for nine years, and Sandra E. (Hamm) Dubs, who died April 20, 1997. Born December 27, 1935, in Hanover, he was the son of Raymon J., Sr. and Louise C. (Inners) Dubs. Jere was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover, the Hanover Area Arts Guild, and the Hanover Arcadian Club. Jere was a graduate of Delone Catholic High School and the Maryland Institute College of Art. Jere was the owner/operator of Raymon's Men's Clothier for numerous years. He then became a partner with the real estate firm of Hilker, Klauer, & Dubs until his retirement. After retirement he worked part-time at the former Doc Klunk's. Jere was a local artist, and taught classes in his own studio. Two of his paintings still hang in the Guthrie Memorial Library. In addition to his loving wife Colleen, Jere is survived by two sons, R. Jeffrey Dubs of York and Jonathan L. Dubs of Parkton, Md.; one daughter, Jennifer L. Wagner of Hanover; three stepchildren, Robert P. Doll of Selinsgrove, Kimberly H. Elam of Tracy, Calif., and Bryan T. Doll of Hanover; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Jon I. Dubs of Dillsburg; and one sister, Jeanne E. Moore of Colorado Springs, Colo. He is also survived by many loving family members and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, James D. Dubs. A memorial service to celebrate and remember Jere's life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut St., Hanover, with his pastor, the Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser, officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover. Contributions in Jere's memory may be made to the VNA Hospice Program of Hanover, 440 N. Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331; and St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut St., Hanover, PA 17331. Dear Family: Bernie and I were so sorry to hear of the passing of Jere..Our friendship goes back to school days.What a wonderful guy. Heaven's door opened and received another caring/giving saint. He never passed anyone up, when he saw you, he always went out of his way to talk and asked how you were feeling. Jere, always had a good word for everyone...
