Steven Roy Unger

Steven Roy Unger, 48, died Monday, March 28, 2005, at the Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Virginia (VanMetre) Unger. Steven was born Oct. 25, 1956, in Gettysburg, the son of Mae (Russell) Unger of Hanover and stepmother, Delores Unger of Orrtanna and the late Leroy Unger. Steven was employed at McClarin Plastics, Hanover, where he recently received an award for perfect attendance for the late five years He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a life member of the North American Hunting Club. He was also a member of the Hanover Home Association. In addition to his wife, mother and stepmother, Steven is survived by two sons, Roy L. Unger and Daniel L. Unger, both of Hanover; five brothers, Harold Unger, Thomas Unger and Terry Unger, all of Gettysburg, Raymond Unger of Carroll Valley and Stanley Unger of Thomasville; three sisters, Betty Unger of York, Linda Cool of Fairfield and Janet Wyman of Hanover. In addition to his father, Steven was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Unger. The funeral will be Friday, April 1, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, with Pastor Carleton Burrows officiating. Viewing will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.
