Thomas Kern Obituary

NEW OXFORD Thomas E. Kern, 63, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015, at Genesis Healthcare, Gettysburg Center. He was the loving spouse of Joseph H. Benson, New Oxford. He was born June 21, 1951, in Hanover, the son of the late Beatrice Alverta (Day) Kuhn and the stepson of the late Leo "Dick" Kuhn. Tom served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired from Sealed Air Corp., Hanover, after 45 years of service. In addition to his spouse, Tom is survived by his best friend, Riley; and his sisters and brother. Services were private. To share memories of Tom, please visit www.wetzelfuneralhome.com

I taught Tom when he came to HHS from elementary school. He was well prepared and a pleasure to have in class. My sympathy is extended to his family and friends.

I met Tom and Joe at Menges Diner. They were the highlight of my day when they came in. They became dear friends. Tom will be missed dearly. Rest in peace my friend til I see you again. The tears I have cries are rain drops on your resting place. Love you my friend, Cindy
