William L. McKean, Jr.
Dillsburg
William Lander McKean, Jr., 78, died Friday, November 25, 2016 at his home in Dillsburg following a lingering illness. He was born May 25, 1938 in Washington, PA, the son of the late Jeannette Smith and William Lander McKean.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sandra (Piper) McKean; two sons and their families, Harry Palmer McKean of New Oxford, daughter-in-law, Dawn Marie, and grandson Charles George, and William Lander McKean III, of Dayton, VA, daughter-in-law, Cynthia Ann, and grandchildren, Brandon Scott, Kayla Ann, and Krista Mae. Also surviving is a sister, Dorris McKean Parker; and brother-in-law, John Parker, of Latrobe; and nieces and nephews, Linda, Larry, Pamela, Peg, and Douglas. In addition, he is survived by his cousin, Robert Houck; cousin Forrest Smith; and cousin-best friend Barbara Montgomery.
Bill began his career in the family-owned business, McKean Plumbing and Heating of Washington, PA. When he later relocated to the Central PA area, he worked in the residential construction business for several companies where he received numerous awards.
Always an avid sports fan, Bill watched just about every game the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers ever played, through the good years and the bad.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, with the Rev. Cynthia Parker officiating. Burial will be in New Oxford Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
