Julia Beers Obituary

ARKPORT - Julia M. Beers, 22, of 7997 Knolltop Court, Arkport, died Friday morning (June 9, 2017) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, following a three year battle with Crohn's Disease.

Born in Syracuse, N.Y. on Nov. 30, 1994, she was the daughter of Thomas F. Beers and Mary Jo (Morrison) Beers.

A resident of Arkport, N.Y. since the age of four, Julia was a graduate of Arkport Central School (class of 2013) and later attended SUNY Fredonia.

Throughout her three year battle with Crohn's Disease, Julia kept family and friends updated and informed about her struggles by posting on her daily blog on the internet. She was always willing to share her story with others via her "internet diary." Julia was an inspiration to others because of her blog, which can be found at www.SincerelyJuliaMary.com .

Julia was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, James R. Beers.

Surviving are her father, Thomas F. Beers of Arkport; her mother, Mary Jo Beers of Buffalo; two sisters, Sarah Beers and Laura Beers of Arkport; paternal grandmother, Mary "Dona" Beers of Granville Summit, Pa.; maternal grandparents, Jim and Jackie Morrison of Arkport; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

At Julia's request there will be no prior calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 8 at 2 p.m., at the Granville Center Church of Christ, 1819 Beers Road, Granville Summit, Pa., 16926.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, N.Y.

Julia's family request that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to The Cleveland Clinic Foundation – Crohn's & Colitis Research Fund, PO Box 931517, Cleveland, Ohio, 44193-1655.
