Marje was active in Wausau Community Theater, performing in shows like Night Mother, Barefoot in the Park, and A Midsummer Night's Dream during the 1980's. She also enjoyed cross-stitch and other crafts, as well as reading suspense novels. In later years, she liked to binge on Criminal Minds marathons.

She was born on November 11, 1941 as the only child of Ken and Mary Berg of Park Falls, WI She graduated from Park Falls High School and completed her Bachelor of Arts at UW-Milwaukee graduating Summa Cum Laude. She went on to earn three Masters of Education degrees.

Marje's life will be celebrated in a gathering at Wiggley Field in Schofield, WI on Sunday, October 18 at noon. In lieu of flowers, Eric and Brian are asking friends to make a contribution to Alzheimers organizations of their choice in her honor.

I am fortunate to be one of the many people Marje touched. She was friendly and personable sharing with me interesting perspectives on the field of education. She is one of those persons one wished they had gotten to know better.

I was sorry to hear the news that "Mrs. Z" passed away. She was my Freshman English teacher, and I stuck near her as a teacher's aide through my remaining four years at Wausau West High School. She was one of my very favorite teachers. I always had deepest respect for her investment in students. She truly cared about our education. With my very best spelling and grammar, I extend my deepest condolences.
