Marsceau, Melva K.

Melva K. Marsceau, 92, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at home with her husband by her side.

Melva was born October 28, 1922 in Grand Chute, Wisconsin to Sarah (Tompkins) and Adolph Kersten. The family moved to Wausau in 1927. She graduated from Wausau High School in 1941. Melva worked for many years at Employers Mutual.

On July 3, 1948 she married David Marsceau, a World War II Veteran, in Wausau. The couple had an unusual devotion to each other for 67 years.

Melva loved children. She taught a Sunday School class at Wausau Bible Church for a number of years. She and her husband were in charge of the Junior High Youth Ministries and later she took part in the Senior High activities. Melva often opened her home to host youth events. Her life and activities were motivated by her love for Jesus Christ. Melva was fun, light-hearted and creative and enjoyed her nieces and nephews.

Melva is survived by her husband, David, and one brother Edward (Betty) Kersten in Frisco, Texas and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Joyce, and two brothers, Milton and Clyde.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Brainard Funeral Home - Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston. Rev. Jan Hettinga will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Melva's memory be made to Wausau Bible Church, Rejoice Radio Program in Pensacola, Florida or the Rural Bible Crusade.
