Carl Frank Salih

1927 - 2017

Carl Frank Salih, age 90, of Bartlesville, and retired Captain of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, died July 24th at Journey Home.
Carl was born June 27, 1927 in Los Angeles, California to Frank and Carla (Durbahn) Salih. He attended Elementary School in East Los Angeles and High School in Montebello, California, graduating in 1945. He entered the United States Navy upon graduation and received an honorable discharge in June 1946. He worked for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, retiring in 1976 after 27 years of service.
Carl married Frances Anne McFarland on November 7th, 1953 at the Chapel of the Roses in Pasadena, California and they resided in West Covina, California for 25 years before moving to Bartlesville in 1978. He worked for Ace Hardware in Bartlesville for several years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Dewey.
Carl is survived by his wife Frances of the home; one daughter, Judy Burger and her husband, Bill of Bartlesville; two sons- Dale Salih of Vinita and Wayne Salih of Bartlesville; one granddaughter, Dr. Jourdan Laine Howell and her husband Elijah of West Palm Beach, Florida and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, George Salih and a sister, Elsie Tierheimer.
Funeral services will be held at Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 am Thursday, July 27, 2017 with Pastor Mark Wright officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
